Yo 2 the trickle whom r reading these blog!
2day we had no lssons.Instead we went on a battlesites trail with an old boy who used to b a colonel in the SAF as our tour guide.1st of all,we went down 2 Kent RIdge & walked 2 Reflections @ Bukit Chandu 2 learn about the Battle of pt. 226(another name 4 the Battle of Pasir Panjang but I think pt. 226 is cooler).The old soldier told us about the weapons & how they were loaded & fired ,side effects, uses,projectiles blah blah blah...etc.etc.etc...Ad Infinitium.
After that, we went in2 a theatre 2 listen 2 sounds of battle where the sounds of pt.226 were recreated & put in2 some audio show with a few videos. K k! I admit i was a little scared as i expected 2 b deafened,horrified and appalled.Actually,it was alright but the guy who was speaking the part of the Japanese potrayed him as the classic villain with the infamous "muhahaha " & I keep thinking:Y can't the directors come up with sthing more original.
l8r, we went 2 see the Labrador Secret Tunnels.it was a totalk killjoy as we onli went down 1 portion & it was dark and vision near zero save our h/ps.My frien dropped his in2 the grilled coverlet & we almost got lost in the darkness.
We then proceeded 2 the sea after passing through gun positions(but with very few actual guns) and getting facts from the soldierl.There, we looked @ machine gun posts and were allowed 2 roam about 4 just 10 miserable minutes.I toured around the "Long Ya Men" area and managed 2 catch a glimpse of Megtastar Aries being towed in2 habour by a tugboat.
There the visit ended & we went back 2 school and had an hour's recess.
I hope things willl get more interesting next time, though i certainly did learn a lot from this round.

FINALLY!!A JERSEY!!
YES!!!!
I finally got a Man U jersey!!
I hav been waiting about 1 millinia for it.It is the ultimate supporters badge for football clubs,My mum bought it 4 me as a belated birthday present.It is the commerative blue 3rd kit that looks like the one that George Best,Bobby Charlton,Denis Irwin and Co. wore in the Champions League finals vs Benfica!Thank GOD.And also,I will also get the 2009/2010 jersey when it comes out l8r this year.YES!!!

Job Week Camp
GET READY 4 A REALLY LONG POST!!!
Exactly one week after Tenderfoot Camp,off I went again 2 Jobweek Camp where we were 2 go around asking 4 jobs from other people.It was also a good opportunity 2 bond with my patrolmates in my new patrol-Blue Shark.
1st Day:
Came just in time!Howeva,I got a little confused about the seating arrangements.
My patrol leader is called Anthony and he's a scholar.He is already a PL even though he only came 2 Singapore las year.That was very pro!I went out 2 do my joibs with a Sec 4 called Lim Jiang and another Sec 2 boy called Gerald.
@ 1st,we went around Coronation.Howeva,no 1 offered us a job(mostly,we were beaten 2 the jobs by other scouts).Hence,we hopped on a bus 2 Bukit Timah and roamed 2nd to 3rd avenue.We managed 2 get a no. of jobs including gardening ,washing a car and cleaning a wall.The wall cleaning was the hardest as no matter we tried 2 clean the stains,moss and scum off the wall,.it would'nt come off and the owner of the house was really turned off,Thank the divine name of GOD,her mother came along & gave us some advice.From our efforts,we earned $69.
That night,after a nice meal and some study,we were reprimanded by the camp commandants 4 our lacklustre collection.We were determined 2 do better the next day.
Day 2:
This was the most sucesssful day yet.Mayb because we started early in the morning and that it was a Sunday but I earned $142.In the morning,after a quick breakfast,we went 2 the area aroun Sixth Avenue.We made quick money doing jobs like trimming plants.In the afternion,we went 2 Lim Jiang's condo and helped his dad clean his car and sweep.After that spot of work,we polished off some fried rice and cucumbers b4 we negotiated the many blocks.One of the more interesting jobs
was when we were asked 2 polish brass.it was kind of alien 2 me but I still did it well(it's easy,trust me).
After dinner,we were praised 4 our good work and were allowed 2 watch a movie:Hoodwinked.It was real funny except that there were 2 many songs.
Day 3:
This was the worst day of all,
We went as a patrol this time 2 the HDB flats in Jurong.A wide variety of partners and myself charged around the blocks but in thye end,I only earned $51!!
That night however,we were praised again as others had made up 4 our shortcomings & we were allowed 2 watch another movie:The Spiderwick chronicles.Very nice special effects and storyline.
Day 4(2day):
2day,we had 2 do CIP.
we went 2 one room flats in Toa Payoh and cleaned them up.I did the windows.After a sumptious lunch @ Macdonalds,we went back 2 school and we Sec 1s registered ourselves with the scouts and went home.
Alll in all,it was an enjoyable camp and I pray UTC will b good & mayb better.

Tenderfoot Camp
Brace urselves 4 a long post...
On 6 march 2009,I went 2 my 1st scout camp,specially organised 4 the newcomers(tenderfoots...degrading right?).We had a good lunch in front of the squash courts b4 getting on the bus 2 Sarimbun Camp in Lim Chu Kang(UTC there also).When we reached there,we did a little footdrill b4 going 2 pitch tents.It took hours.I didn't know that pitching tents can b so long & so "xian" 1!
After that, we cooked our own food:Instant Noodles a la field(field cooking with mess tins).Actually burned some grass while cooking!
L8r that night,we went 4 night walk.We actually visited the beach where the evil Jap soldiers invaded Singapore.I was feeling very sick when I thought about the fact that the ground I was sitting on was once covered in blood and was still covered with the DNA of dead men.Then we negotiated an obstacle b4 sitting down 2 supper.We then went 2 sleep.I slept better compared 2 other camps.
Next morning,we did PT.Not much,just running about & push-ups but the senior acting as PTI kept making us "knock it down".Then we played some games,nothing much really.@ lunch,we found ourselves unable 2 eat the food as it was honestly the worse rubbish I had ever tasted!!!Good thing there was an apple as we threw away the main course after a few mouthfuls.
We then returned to school,had our debrief and went home.
This 1st camp was so-so,though I shudder 2 think wat my 2nd trip 2 Srimbun 4 UTC will b like...

Hurray pplz!!!!
I just got all my results back and I can proudly say I have almost recovered my form lost in that terrible era of the dreadful,deadly PSLE.
I hav topped my class 4 the 1st time eva in my whole 13 yrs of life.Ppl can't believe I pulled it off when I am the only appeal student in class!!
Praise the Lord 4 his blessings!!!Vivian,I'm striking BACK!!!
